Many of us are taught to be kind to others but that it's selfish to be kind ourselves. Being our own best friend is fundamental to our well and to our relationships with others. When we treat ourselves with compassion, we are better able to show up for our own lives and for others in ways that are genuine and grounded. From that place, our connections with others become more balanced and respectful. Practicing self care of our emotional, physical, and mental well-being in a gentle imperfect way, allows us to build stronger, authentic connections with ourselves and with others.
It’s common to spend a great deal of time worrying about how others see us. As we begin to value ourselves, we start to develop a trusting, respectful relationship with ourselves. From this place of self-worth, we often notice changes in our relationships, including feeling more valued by others.
